What is SSC (Staff Selection Commission)?
SSC stands for Staff Selection Commission. It is an organization that works under the Government of India.
The first pose of SSC is to select for recruit staff for the government bodies or the organization run by government like the railway department, health department, electrical department, Income Tax Department. This organization was formed 44 years ago, in the year 1975, on the 4th of November. Its headquarter is in New Delhi India, and Braj Raj Sharma, IAS joined as Chairman, S.S.C., on the 24th of October 2019. SSC was formerly called as Subordinate Services Commission. SSC conducts Combined Graduate Level Examination into three levels, or we can say in three tiers that are their Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4.
SSC Tier-I
In Tier 1, there are four or parts.
– General Intelligence and Reasoning
– General Awareness
– Quantitative Aptitude
– English Comprehension
All of these parts consist of 25 questions each, and every item is of two marks. Therefore the total numbers of questions are 100, and, The full marks are 200.
General Intelligence and Reasoning:
This part includes verbal and non-verbal. Topics included:
-spatial orientation, analogies, space visualization, similarities and differences, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, visual memory, observation, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, Trends, Space Orientation, Space Visualization, Venn Diagrams, Figural Pattern- folding and completion, Indexing, Address matching, date & city matching, syllogistic reasoning,
Numerical Operations, Classification of center codes/roll numbers, etc.
English Comprehension :
This section measures Candidates’ ability, his/ her basic writing and comprehension ability, etc. Would be tested. This section may include questions on Phrases and idioms, active, passive sentence, improvement one word, substitution, error spotting, fill in the blanks, synonyms-antonyms.
General Awareness :
As the name of the section defines questions revolves around the general awareness of the candidates in the field of GK and GS. Also, the environment around him and its investment towards society. The test will also include questions about India, and its neighboring countries, geography, general policy, economic, scientific research. The item will also be asked from the field of Current affairs, books, science, sports, etc.
Quantitative Aptitude :
Quantitative Aptitude questions will only include the problems that Test the knowledge of numbers with the candidate, the use of names, and also the sense of numbers. The topics include Time & Work, Percentage. Ratio & Proportion, common tangents to two or more circles, Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circentersylinder, Sphere, Heights and Distances, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra, fractions, Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture, and Alligation, Time and distance, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle and its various kinds of centers, Congruence, and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents angles subtended by chords of a circle, Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar diagram & Pie chart, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, etc.

SSC Tier-II
In Tier-II, all the questions are multiple-choice or objective types. There are four parts in this tier too:
-Quantitative Ability
-English Language and Comprehension
-Statistics
-General Studies (Finance and Economics)
There RE 500 questions in this section, and on these questions, the marks allotted are 800. Each chapter has a time limit of 2 hours.
The English language and comprehension 200 questions each of one marks, whereas the rest resections have 100 items, which consist of one mark each.
After these two tiers than the candidates have to give the Tier-III exam, which is the Descriptive Paper in English/Hindi (Writing of Essay, Precis, Letter, Application, etc.).
In this section, the marks allotted are a hundred, and the time limit of the article is 1 hour or 60 minutes.
When the candidate passes all the above three years, then he or she has to attend the tier 4 exam, which consists of DEST (Data Entry Speed Test) and CPT (Computer Proficiency Test).
