Each paper of CTET 2020 will be an offline test of 150 minutes duration having 150 MCQs of 1 mark each without any provision of negative marking. Includes Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Environmental Studies, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.
The exam is divided into two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2. As per candidates aspiring to become a teacher of classes 1–5 need to take Paper 1, whereas Paper 2 is meant for those who want to become a teacher of classes 6–8. To teach students of all classes, i.e. 1-8, one needs to appear for both Paper 1 and 2.

CTET Selection Process
CTET selection process includes the following steps:
Step 1: Fill CTET application form
Aspirants need to fill their CTET 2020 application form in online mode on the official website of the exam. Candidates also need to pay CTET application fee of Rs 1,000 (for one paper) and Rs 1,200 (for two papers).
Step 2: Download CTET admit card
Candidates can download CTET 2020 admit card from the official website of the exam. The admit card for CTET exam contains relevant details related to the aspirant and exam. It also mentions the candidate’s test centre details as well as reporting time for the exam.
Step 3: Appear for CTET exam
Aspirants need to report at their CTET exam centre at least 90 minutes before the commencement of the exam. CTET exam is of two and a half hour duration. On the exam day, two papers are conducted. Paper-I needs to be given by aspirants who want to qualify for teaching of classes I-V (primary wing). Paper-II is for candidates who want to qualify for teaching of classes VI-VIII (elementary wing).
Step 4: Check CTET result
CBSE announces CTET result on the official website of the exam. Candidates who qualify the exam get a CTET eligibility certificate. The validity of CTET eligibility certificate is seven years from the date of declaration of result.

History of the CTET exam:
The Teacher Eligibility Test, known as TET, is the minimum qualification required in India for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for Classes I to VIII.
Who conducts:
It is conducted by both the government State as well as Central. Most of the state conduct their own TET exam. The test is conducted to meet the objectives of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009.
